Olive 78 lbs. – 21″ tall

Meet Olive, she is the sweetest most social girl, proudly bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels. She is out of Isla and Odin (please go to their individual pages to find out more about these amazing and well-bred lines).
There were 6 female pups in this litter and we kept all 6 for our breeding program. I’m happy to announce that all 6 siblings passed their clearance which shows very strong and healthy genetics in both their vertical and horizontal pedigree’s!
You can check out all of Olive’s siblings to find out more about the lines (Delilah, Storm, Betty, Harley, Navy).
Olive spent 10 months with one of our imprint trainers and this is what she said about her personality
“Olive is a dream dog to me and the epitome of a Bernese Mountain dog. She is extremely sweet, loyal and quiet. Olive always matches the energy of the room. If you are quiet and calm so, is she and will go to her raised bed or chew on a Yak bone. If you are going to start a fun game for her, she’s ready!  She loves being around you always wanting to have the physical touch, whether it is with her paw or just leaning against you. I often called Olive my little shadow as she always wanted to know what I was up to and be a part of it. From watching me blow-dry my hair, watching tv or eating a meal… Olive was always by my side. Olive plays nicely with other dogs. Even when she was a chunky 8-week puppy she wanted to play and keep up with the older puppies. This developed into her playing a game of “tag” with my family dog every morning and evening for ten minutes like clockwork. I have never seen a dog light up like Olive did when she experienced her first snow fall. Olive loved watching snowflakes falling from the sky and when there was enough snow on the ground to play in she was in heaven. I took Olive to the park every day and she loved the snow; running through it, digging her face it and playing “tag”. Olive brought me joy every single day, and I hope that her puppies will bring that same joy for their families.”

Binky Boo 23 lbs. – 14″ tall

Binky boo is a mini Goldendoodle out of Aria and Sting. Binky was bred and raised at SwissRidge. We also owned her grandparents (Aria’s parents) Monty and Ebony. Monty became a Canadian Champion very quickly. Every judge that saw him was impressed with this amazing gem that I had found half way across the world! I imported Monty directly from Spain. He is out of some of the most sought after retriever lines around the world! Read his description and his fathers achievements! He comes from a long line of Champions and health tested lines. Monty’s father was a Spanish Champion and the top winning dog in Spain in 2004! Ebony, I imported directly from Belgium. She was the sweetest retriever out of Champion/fully health tested lines! She lived until the rip old age of 15 years old but sadly passed away after her 15th birthday.
As you can see Binky has a very impressive background!

Binky Boo is a fun, energetic, brave and incredibly smart little girl. Binky grew up in a home environment with one of the kennel staff and imprint trainers. After only a few weeks of being with the trainer, Binky knew all her commands by verbal cue only and could do a down in motion, this is something most puppies and adult dogs cannot do. She is super smart and learns extremely quickly. She is a dog who wants to please her owner and will do that at any cost. I see almost no stubbornness in her personality. Binky loves to train and is very athletic, she is the kind of dog that would excel in agility. Binky is an extremely fast runner and fast swimmer. She can swim the length of the pool faster than any other dog we have in the kennel. She will continue to swim back and forth like it’s a game. Binky is athletic outside but when she is inside she is very quite and relaxed. She is the best of both worlds and I know she has the type of personality that almost ever family looks for in their new companion. She loves pack walks on the trails, playing with her friends in the yard and playing with toys. When she gets excited to do something she does an adorable little squeal, tail wagging a mile a minute like she really can’t contain her excitement. Binky would make a great family pet with kids of any age, because of her kind, sweet, loving but adventurous nature. She loves to be loved and is extremely affectionate to any person she meets. She loves to sit in your lap and be snuggled. I am confident Binky Boo will produce fun, intelligent and loving puppies that will fit into just about any family and I can’t wait to see what this girl produces!

Vienna 75 lbs. – 21″ tall

Vienna is a dog that was bred and born at SwissRidge. Her parents are Kyla and Sir Henry.

I kept two pups out of this litter, Veinna and Rosie. This was Kyla’s last litter before retirement.  Vienna is a 3rd generation Golden retriever bred at SwissRidge. Kylas parents where Clea, Clea was such an amazing dog. She had an extremely calm nature and was hands down one of the easiest and most obedient dogs ever. You literally never had to train her. She was just good from day one. Kyla (Veinna’s mom) had a similar personality to Clea. Monty is Kyla’s dad, Vienna’s grandfather. I imported him from Spain years ago. His father was the top winning dog in all of Spain in 2004. Monty didn’t fall far from the tree because he won his Canadian Championship title in only a few weeks. I remember all the breeders wanting to use him for stud because of his beauty and how quickly he won his Championship title. He surprised everyone and was a very special dog.

Sir Henry, Vienna’s father was imported from Germany. He has produced some outstanding Golden retriever and Goldendoodle pups. He is currently 11 years old (in 2021) and still going strong! He is healthy, keeps up with all the young dogs and is still producing pups at SwissRidge.

Vienna takes after her moms leaner body style but her fathers personality.

Vienna is an outgoing dog. She is brave, confident, has energy and she loves adventure.

When comparing her to other Golden retrievers in my kennel she is on the more active side. She needs her daily trail walks and she loves to play in the yard with the toys and her friends. Vienna lives for her walks, she runs through the forest and explores. When we are walking to the trails we first put the dogs on a leash as we walk through the parking lot, before they get off leash access. She enjoys holding the leashes in her mouth and will help walk the others. She is very good off-leash and will wonder ahead but comes immediately when called. Once she has had her energy drained she settles quickly but everyone at the kennel knows, and makes sure she gets her daily exercise. Vienna adores all dogs and people. She is the most loving dog. She loves to cuddle with either people or her friends.

She is a gentle dog with a loving and soft nature. She is extremely kind to all the other dogs. She will share her toys, bring the other dogs toys and drop them in front of them to try and get them to play. She also brings us toys and will drop them right by our feet wanting us to throw them so she can retrieve them. She has that typical retriever personality.

Both Veinna and Rosie (her sister) are the 2 dogs in the kennel that love the water the most. They would hang out by the pool all day. They have no fear when it comes to the water. When we throw a ball into the pool, they leap in and retrieve it. They are both naturals and have loved the pool since day one.

Vienna is the type of dog who loves adventure and will follow her owners into any new situation. If you are hiking, swimming, snowshoeing, camping or riding a bike she is the type of dog that will be the first to get up and go. She has no problem keeping up either! She is a fun and happy dog!

All in all Vienna is amazing. She has your typical retriever personality in almost every way although she has more energy then most of my English retrievers. The best words to describe her are fun, happy, fearless, adventurous and energetic.

Rosie 72 lbs. – 20″ tall

Rosie has some America retriever and some English retriever in her. She is a beautiful combination of both. She is the 3rd generation bred at our Kennel. Her grandmother Clea (an America Retriever) was one of the pioneer dogs at SwissRidge. She was the sweetest and calmest golden. In the 13 years I owned her I never heard a bark and she never once jumped. She followed me like a shadow, always on my left side. You couldn’t find a more relaxed dog than Clea. When I retired her I decided to have one litter of Golden retrievers between Clea and Monty (my stunning English Retriever male who I imported from Spain). He was a Canadian Champion and received this title under 1 year of age! He was the most beautiful dog and a huge goof ball. Clea x Monty had a gorgeous litter of retriever puppies and I kept a few pups from this litter one of which was Kyla (Rosie’s mom). Kyla has the temperament of Clea – calm, easy going and such a love! When Kyla was about to retire I bred her to Henry and they had a beautiful litter of 3 pups (2 Females and 1 Male). I kept both females (Rosie and Vienna). Both of which have turned into gorgeous, healthy dogs with amazing personalities. As you can see I have owed these lines for almost 20 years and they have been producing healthy and beautiful puppies for us for over 2 decades. They are strong, healthy, long lived, beautiful and well bred lines. They have been tested for genetic disease generation after generation.

Rosie is a spunky girl! I would say she has more of an outgoing and bubbly personality then her grandmother Clea and her mother Kyla although when Kyla was young she acted more like Rosie! Rosie loves to wrestle, pounce and chase the other dogs. It is always fun play. She knows how to get along with all the dogs and knows what energy to give each dog. She knows which dogs she can play rough with and which dogs she needs to be calmer and gentle around. I can put her in any playgroup and she is always a gem. All dogs love Rosie and she loves all the dogs. I would say she is best describe as the kid in the school yard who gets along with everyone and wants to be everyone’s friend. She never bullies and is always very positive.

Another one of Rosie’s favourites things to do is swim in our salt water pool during the summer. She loves the water and would be in there all day if she could. She jumps off the side retrieving her toys in the water and bringing them back to us so we can throw them in again! She could do this all day.

Rosie is very good off leash. She comes when called and listens on off leash walks. She never strays far and always checks in. She is the perfect dog as she is playful but can chill and enjoys love and affection from her humans. This is one quality we look for in all our breeding dogs!

Petunia

45lbs. – 23″tall

Petunia is a 3rd generation poodle born at SwissRidge! She is a standard poodle out of Sedona and Grommet. I also own Petunia’s grandparents Coco and Crumpet and I also own many of Petunia’s uncles and aunts. I kept four puppies out of Petunia’s litter – Freya, Petunia, Tallulah and Leida. All of Petunia’s sisters, aunts and uncles, parents and grandparents have passed vigorous health testing. These tests can be viewed on all their individual pages on my website.  This is amazing because Petunia not only comes from health tested parents and grandparents but you know all the dogs in her vertical pedigree have passed all their testing (all the ones we have tested anyway which is A LOT)!

Petunia and Freya are the twins of the litter, they went to imprint training together as puppies and have really become SwissRidge’s thing 1 and thing 2.  They are best friends and do everything together. They are almost identical in looks and personality. Petunia is a perfect mix of her parents. She is fun, confident and playful like Grommet and loving and sweet, with a sensitive side like Sedona. Petunia is the kind of dog that could be placed with any family. Although she can be extremely outgoing at times and requires a good amount of exercise she also knows when it is time to relax and is happy to lay down and be pet. When we take her out of trail walks she hops through the fields like a rabbit. It is especially comical when the hay field has grown 2 feet and she leaps through the hay like she has spring on her feet. She reminds all of us at the kennel of Tigger the tiger. She is an extremely happy dog and never has a down day. She always wants to play with anyone that will play with her. If one dog or person will not play she politely moves on to see if someone else will play with her. She will always brighten your day as she is so full of love and happiness. On pack walks she is often found tagging along with the people just slightly behind or ahead. If she gets too far ahead with the pack she is always the first to come back and check in. Petunia recently had her first litter of puppies and was an incredible first time mom. She kept her puppies clean and well fed and was extremely loving and protective over them.

Tallulah

40.5lbs.– 22″tall

Tallulah is a 3rd generation poodle born at SwissRidge! She is a standard poodle out of Sedona and Grommet. I also own Tallulah’s grandparents Coco and Crumpet and I also own many of Tallulah’s uncles and aunts. I kept four puppies out of Tallulah’s litter – Freya, Petunia, Tallulah and Leida. All of Tallulah’s sisters, aunts and uncles, parents and grandparents have passed vigorous health testing. These tests can be viewed on all their individual pages on my website.

Tallulah is the most sensitive, submissive and lower energy out of the four sisters. Tallulah is not the kind of dog who likes to roughhouse with the other dogs in the yard and is often the first one to roll over and show her belly to the other dogs. This means, “I mean no harm and I’m submitting to you”. She is easy going and loves to please all dogs and people alike. She is most like Leida but Leida is a bit more bubbly in nature then Tallulah. Tallulah does have a fun personality though, she is goofy, bouncy and playful. Tallulah likes playing with toys in the yard and the smaller dogs, as long as they do not rough play. She is very smart and loves to train for treats. When you get out the treats she will often start performing tricks before you ask her in order to try and get the treat quicker! She is such a ham! Tallulah is very mother like even when she doesn’t have puppies she likes to watch over the smaller dogs and make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone is having a good time. You will often catch her in her kennel licking her friends and helping them keep clean. Tallulah is very loving and affectionate and would rather sit by your side in the play yard and watch over the dogs then be out playing. She loves to be with people. Tallulah has had a litter of beautiful pups! Every time you feed her puppies she likes to sit on your lap or lay between your legs to make sure she is getting her fair share of attention too. Tallulah is the kind of dog that could be placed with any family, old or young. She is gentle natured, loving and affectionate and has produced some amazing puppies thus far!

Freya

40lbs. – 23″tall

Freya is a 3rd generation poodle born at SwissRidge! She is a standard poodle out of Sedona and Grommet. I also own Freya’s grandparents Coco and Crumpet and I also own many of Freya’s uncles and aunts. I kept four puppies out of Freya’s litter – Freya, Petunia, Tallulah and Leida. All of Freya’s sisters, aunts and uncles, parents and grandparents have passed vigorous health testing. These tests can be viewed on all their individual pages on my website.  This is amazing because Freya not only comes from health tested parents and grandparents but you know all the dogs in her vertical pedigree have passed all their testing (all the ones we have tested anyway which is A LOT)!

Freya and Petunia are the twins of the litter, they went to imprint training together as puppies and have really become SwissRidge’s thing 1 and thing 2. They are best friends and do everything together. They are almost identical in looks and personality. We have learned to tell them apart but I’m sure the average person would have a hard time when they are running around the fields. Freya is a free spirit, she is energetic and fun. Freya loves to go for pack walks and loves running through the long grass. She makes us laugh because she goes into the long grass and you see her head spring up with every leap she takes.  Her and her sisters will do this in tandem. After a long walk through the trails, most dogs are ready to have a nap, but not Freya. She is always willing and ready to go out again for another walk. Freya is an athletic, fun and happy dog and would excel in any type of agility. Freya is very patient and if a kid was crawling around her or pulling at her ear she would care less. She has a very easygoing and lets things roll off her back personality.  As fun and energetic as she is, she always takes advantage of any and all the love she can get and loves to give kisses. Freya would be the perfect family pet for families with kids of any age and activity level and I am confident her puppies will be the same way!

Rue
70lbs. – 24.5″tall

Rue is an English Goldendoodle who was bred and raised at SwissRidge!
Her mother is Winter and her father is Hendrix.
Winter and Hendrix have been bred together numerous times as they are known for producing amazing puppies. Many of their pups are used in our “dogs for kids” charity program. We have trained 3 of their pups (Rosie, Asha and Polo) for service dogs. I recommend many of their pups to families who are in need of a service dog for their children and all of these pups have succeeded in this field of work.
Winter was imported from Germany and Hendrix came from the US. These two dogs are always paired together because they are known for producing healthy pups with amazing personalities.

Just like many of Rue’s bothers and sisters Rue has a service dog quality personality! She is sweet, loving and compassionate towards other dogs and people. She loves to lay her head on our lap which is always very comforting.  She doesn’t have the type of personality that is always on the go. She is happy just to lay with us until we get up. She has a gentle presence about her. She is quiet, never to rowdy, never barks, never jumps and has always been a very easy dog to train and teach right from wrong. She is an old soul in a young body! She is a people pleaser and is very happy to follow direction without much guidance. She is the type of dog that anyone could raise and own. She is happy to interact with all people whether she knows them or not. She is all tail wags when meeting new people!

The best words to describe her are are lovable, affectionate, easygoing and sweet.

Ophelia 85 lbs. – 26″ tall

Ophelia is a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog who I imported from Europe.
She has a slightly smaller build then some of my other European Bernese but she is just as stunning. Her pedigree is outstanding. It is full of Good/Excellent hip ratings. Ophelia’s breeder is just as picky as myself when it comes to breeding high quality dogs. He does the same amount of testing as I do on the Bernese.
Ophelia’s parents have all been testing for hips, elbows, eyes, shoulders, heart, Vwd and DM. This is a great feeling to know that the puppies that Ophelia produces have ancestors tested many generations back and for a number of health ailments that the breed is prone to.

Ophelia also comes from a long line of Champions in her pedigree and some very well-known bloodlines. She has both health and beauty in her pedigree. Ophelia’s mother turned 11 years old this year (2020) which is a good age for a Bernese so you know she has longevity in her pedigree as well! I also own Ophelia’s full brother Odin and a few of her other brother went to breeders in America. I keep in touch with these breeders and all her brothers have passed their health clearances. This proves she comes from healthy lines in both her horizontal and vertical pedigree. It is a great feeling to know that her siblings have passed their clearances!

Ophelia has the sweetest personality! She is the type of dog that loves to be loved but she is not to much dog. She doesn’t seem pushy and she doesn’t have that stubborn nature that I see in some Bernese. She listens, she is polite and most of all she is gentle. She knows she is a big dog and will not try to get on your lap. She respects space. She will lean up against us for a pet but will not try to jump in our lap. She has a gentle, sweet and loving nature. She gets along with all the dog in the kennel. She does well with more outgoing dogs and will match their play style but if she is with a calmer/older dog that doesn’t want to play she will just lay beside them and relax. She will not egg them on.

Ophelia is the type of dog that likes to be active but doesn’t need to go for a run everyday. She will go for trail walks, but she doesn’t have a ton of energy.  She would be happy laying by her owner’s feet being pet all day. She is an easy dog and has an amazing personality.

Ellie 40 lbs. – 18″ tall

Ellie is a stunning, tri-coloured, mini Bernedoodle out of Crumpet & Pandora.

Her mother, Pandora was bred at our kennel and so was her grandmother (Nellar).  Ellies great grandfather Daiko was the 2nd male Bernese I owned, who I imported from Belgium. As you can tell I’m personally familiar with her lines 4 generations back on her moms side. Ellie’s father Crumpet has proven himself in producing amazing, fun, playful and healthy pups at our kennel since 2015. He has sired many pups that I have kept back for my breeding program!

Ellie reminds me a lot of her mother. She has the Bernese personality that is loving, loyal and relaxed. She has some energy when running around outside but I know if it where up to her she would rather be sleeping in a comfy bed next to a fire. The thing I love most about her is her sweet nature and her soft and caring eyes. She is a dog that would be good for a household with young children or someone who has no experience with dogs. She is one of those dogs that you don’t have to train, she is just a good dog. She is patient and never barks. She is calm and rarely jumps on us. She sits patiently for pets. She is loyal, loving and would sit on your foot all day for love and attention. This is a typical Bernese trait. Ellie occasionally goes swimming with the staff at SwissRidge but prefers to wear a life jacket and float around rather than swimming, it’s quite funny to see! I wouldn’t say she loves the water, but she tolerates it.
Ellies best friends are Kinder and Maeve. They are the three amigos that play together in the yard, share toys, go for walks together and are always sleeping and cuddling on the same bed.

Ellie recently had her first litter and she was an amazing first-time mom! She took incredibly good care of her puppies, kept them well fed, clean and was very loving and protective towards them. She has a very nurturing nature about her.
That first litter is older now and feedback from people that have puppies from that litter is that they are sweet puppies that have blessed their lives and brought them lots of love and joy!
