Meet Navy, an amazing and sweet Bernese Mountain dog, proudly bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels. She is out of Isla and Odin (please go to their individual pages to find out more about these amazing and well-bred lines). There were 6 female pups in this litter and we kept all 6 for our breeding program. I’m happy to announce that all 6 siblings passed their clearance which shows very strong and healthy genetics in both their vertical and horizontal pedigree’s! You can check out all of Navy’s siblings to find out more about the lines (Delilah, Storm, Betty, Harley, Olive). Here is a little more about Navy’s personality: Navy is an amazing and sweet dog. She has a unique charm that sets her apart from all the rest. She has one blue eye and one brown eye! This distinctive trait, considered uncommon in the Bernese breed, inspired her name. Much like her mother Isla, Navy has a warm and friendly personality, making her such an amazing dog and very welcoming to be around. Navy is a true tomboy at heart. She is athletic and loves to get down and dirty once in awhile. Navy loves to run and play in the yard with her siblings and toys. Especially the big jolly ball toys. As soon as she gets into the yard, she b-lines it straight for the ball and picks it up, teasing all the other dogs as she prances around the yard carrying her prized possession. Navy is a foodie at heart. She lives and breath for her next meal. She is one of the dogs that could easily convince anyone that she’s been skipped at mealtime, eagerly awaiting another chance to indulge. To manage her enthusiasm, we introduced a slow feeder bowl, this helps her to enjoy her meals more slowly. Due to her love of food, she is extremely easy to train. She’s willing to do just about anything for that treat (that includes giving up her Jolly ball). One thing she hasn’t quite conquered yet is catching a treat that is thrown to her. She always gives it her all where effort is concerned but the treat almost always bounces off her forehead. I would describe Navy as a fun and goofy girl. Nothing really bothers her. She has a very passive personality. In summary, Navy is a fun-loving and goofy pup, she brings a lot of joy and laughter to the kennel. Her amazing and sweet personality, coupled with her strong lineage, makes her the perfect dog to enter our breeding program and she has already started producing amazing puppies for families around the globe!
