Lagertha
60 lbs. – 21″ tall

She goes for off leash walks and has fun romping in the forest and fields of the property but she never wanders to far and always checks in with us. She plays with a group of 15 dogs and is lower ranking in the pack. She gets along with everyone and loves every dog. With people she loves most people but can be unsure of people that she doesn’t know. She does warm up eventually once she trusts them. She is not a dog that would jump in the car and go home with any person. She is loyal to the people that she knows and trusts. She loves belly rubs and loves affection.

Lagertha has passed all her clearances and is joining our breeding program on a trial basis as we evaluate the puppies she produces. She has had one litter and I have been thrilled with the temperaments of her pups so far.

Sansa
65 lbs. – 19″ tall

Sansa, along with her sister Daenerys, is an English golden retriever who I imported from Europe from a breeder I know quite well. She comes from very long lines of health-tested dogs and her pedigree is packed with champions. I am never disappointed with the dogs I receive from this breeder. I always get first pick of litter, which is a great perk and the puppies they produce are always sweet, loving, gentle puppies, just like their parents!

Sansa has the personality that is typical of most retrievers, sweet, calm, gentle and loving! She is a happy, go-lucky dog and it seems like she is always smiling and full of life! She is a very easy dog to be around as she has a calming demeanor about her. She is very intelligent and is always looking to please us. She is not stubborn or strong willed. She loves to play with us and the other dogs.

Sansa’s favourite game is jumping up and catching the water that is sprayed out of the hose. She also likes rolling in the snow in the winter and swimming in the pool and going for long, off leash hikes in the summer! She is a dog that gets along with everyone and has many friends in the kennel. No body can resist Sansa’s charming nature!

Sansa has a beautiful, cream colored, soft coat. She is a beautiful girl that turns heads wherever she goes!

Daenerys
75 lbs. – 21″ tall

Daenerys is a beautiful English retriever that was imported from Europe. She came with her sister Sansa. I have never had two dogs that look so similar. They are identical twins. They are identical in every way except Daenerys is a tad bigger.

Daenerys is named after Daenerys Targaryen, the fictional character from game of thrones. Our Daenerys at SwissRidge has some similar characteristics. She is engaging, charming, loyal and brave. There is nothing you can not love about Daenerys. She will win you over with her charm every time. She is a calm, gentle and confident dog. She is not pushy for attention but does enjoy a cuddle and ear scratch. Daenerys is very smart and easily picks up on new tricks. She is a dog that wants to please her owners and doesn’t seem stubborn when learning new things. She has a beautiful, full, cream colored coat. Daenerys is a dog that would fit well into any family because of her loving, gentle, easy going and confident personality.

Malibu
24 lbs. – 16″ tall

Malibu was born and raised at our kennel. Her parents are Kahlua and Levi who are also listed on our website with information/pictures and health clearances. Malibu is such a sweetheart! When she meets you she will sit directly in front of you and stare up at you with the most loving gaze until you just have to pet her. From her stunning color to her adorable personality she is impossible to resist. She is loving, sensitive and affectionate. She always seems to know how we are feeling. She is a very intuitive dog! She always seems to know how we are feeling and if we want to play with her or need affection from her! She is very affectionate, loves to curl up in our lap and will stay there for as long as we pet her. She has a very loving, sweet, caring and affectionate personality.

She is also very gentle and calm and would be the perfect dog for first time dog owners as she has been a breeze to raise from puppy to adult!

Malibu’s favourite game is fetch. When I pick up a toy and ask her “ready?”, she braces herself and gets low to the ground, getting ready to run in whichever direction the toy goes. As I throw the toy she runs as fast as she can, beating everyone to it and quickly running back, dropping the toy at your feet while getting ready to run again. She just loves to race everyone for the toy, carrying it proudly back, showing you that she got it.

Malibu is everything I strive for in the dogs I breed – gorgeous, smart, affectionate and healthy!

Onyx
89lbs. – 25″ tall

Onyx is the kennel tomboy of all the female dogs. She is fun, athletic and isn’t afraid to get a little dirty. On walks she likes to make sure she gets all 4 feet in every puddle or muddy area. Onyx was imported from Hungary alongside her sister Opal and friend from another litter, Octavia. These three girls have proven themselves to be not only beautiful and stocky but have great temperaments too. Onyx can be a little bit shy of new people at first, but quickly warms up and is extremely loyal to her people. When out for pack walks with the other dogs at SwissRidge she prefers to stay close to her people, sometimes even walking right beside you so you can rest your hand on her head or pet her while she walks. She is the type off dog what puts her full trust in her humans and rely’s on them for comfort. Once she trust you she will be your best friend forever! She is a very affectionate girl and is always the first to greet us. She loves to be loved, she loves to give you big bear hugs but also knows when to be calm and gentle and could sit and be pet or brushed for hours. She is not a overly pushy dog. She is calm, gentle and always waits her turn. Onyx is a very goofy girl, she likes to make you laugh. When she goes out into the yard for play time the first thing she does is run and grab the big jolly ball and carries it around in her mouth while she does her business so that no one else can take the toy she wants. While the other girls in her play group are wrestling and running around, Onyx can often be found running around behind them with her ball in her mouth. Onyx is very athletic and enjoys hiking and playing fetch and is up for any adventure except swimming (not many Bernese enjoy swimming). Onyx hates the water. As much as we have tried to get her to enjoy swimming she would just rather watch everyone else having fun in the water.  Onyx is a very sweet girl and I can’t wait to see the puppies she produces!

Octavia

95lbs. – 25″tall

Octavia was imported from Europe at 3 months of age. She has developed into a beautiful, stocky, well built Bernese. I purchased Octavia and two other dogs from the same kennel, at the same time, Onyx and Opal.  I like to purchase a few pups from the same lineage so I can evaluate the temperaments and genetics of the lines I’m breeding. Not only was I able to make sure that their vertical pedigree met my requirements by researching parentage, but by purchasing siblings I’m also able to see what their horizontal pedigree is like by evaluating and health testing the siblings in the litter. Since I own 3 siblings in this litter it made this process easy. I’m happy to announce that all 3 of these dogs passed all their health clearances.

Not only does Octavia have a long history of health tested lineage she is also a stunning bernese with a stocky build. She has an amazing personality. She is easy going, friendly with all dogs and people, smart, attentive and willing to work for treats. She is a people pleaser. A lot of bernese can have stubborn streak but I do not see this in her lineage. She is very friendly, loves everyone and will do anything for a treat. I know we aren’t suppose to have favourites but Octavia and my personalities are in sync and we vibe very well. She is everything I love to see in the Bernese I carefully select for my breeding program.

Octavia has recently passed her health clearances and will be joining the SwissRidge program on a trial basis as I evaluate the puppies she produces.

Maple
25lbs. – 17″ tall

Maple is a Mini Goldendoodle out of Kyla and Sting. Kyla was the daughter of Clea, who was a retriever I had back when I first started breeding dogs two decades ago. Kyla’s father Monty was an English Retriever that I imported from Spain in 2007. He became a Canadian Champion before the age of 1 year. Maples lines have been in my kennel for almost 20 years. Maples father, Sting is currently still a breeding dog in my kennel at 12 years old. He has produced amazing, healthy, beautiful pups for over a decade!

When I look at Maple I have Deja vu because she reminds me of her grandmother Clea.  The best words to describe Maple are kind, sweet, loving and gentle. She has a very caring soul and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She will lay in your lap for hours enjoying being pet. She is a socialite amongst the dogs at the kennel and my employee’s. Everyone gets along with Maple and everyone loves being around her. She is a quite dog who I rarely hear bark. She is a dog that will stick close to us. On our trail walks she never ventures far and always has us in view. She has a personality that would make an amazing therapy dog and she is a dog that would fit well into any family as she has an easy going and versatile personality. Pictures are worth 1000 words and her pictures give a glimpse into her amazing spirit!  I love everything about Maples personality, and she gets an A++ in my books for temperament. Her irresistible looks are an added bonus 🙂

Lilah
67lbs. – 24″ tall

Most people, if they had to guess they would think Lilah was a long and lanky Bernese Mountain Dog but believe it or not she is a Golden Mountain Doodle. Her mother is Penelope (Bernedoodle) and her father is Mogley (Goldendoodle). This lovely girl has a mix of Golden Retriever, Poodle and Bernese. She gets her unique coat because she inherited one straight coated gene from her mother and one straight coated gene from her father. So instead of looking like a poodle or a doodle she resembles more of a Bernese or Retriever due to her straight coat. The most amazing part about her coat is even though it is straight she barely sheds! Her coat is as soft as velvet but you will not find it all over your clothes after a snuggle or pet.

Lilah is a awesome pup. She is everything I love to see in the dogs I breed. She has a social, fun, loving personality. She is one of those dogs that is such an easy keeper. She is quite, never makes much of a fuss, rarely barks and I can put her out in every playgroup and she is everyone’s best friend. She has the perfect personality to be a therapy dog as she is willing to please, gentle, confident and affectionate. She has the personality that would fit in with any household. Even with a family that has never had a dog before or a family that may have a child who is scared of dogs. I say this because she is so gentle and sweet she would help anyone gain confidence around a dog. I’m looking forward to her pups blessing many families as she has been such an amazing addition to our family!
