Hazel 92 lbs. – 22.5″ tall
I acquired Hazel from a breeder colleague of mine in Colorado, and I’m so glad I did. Hazel was about a year and a half when she moved to SwissRidge. After a long flight from Colorado and then a two-hour drive from the airport, she joined my dogs in the yard, went for a swim, and then chilled in my living room. I was so impressed by her adaptability. This breed is not known for their flexibility in being rehomed.
Hazel comes from strong, healthy lines and has the picture-perfect personality. Absolutely anyone could raise this dog! She is loving, sweet, affectionate, and easy to train. She is gentle and adores all the other dogs, from my toy poodles to my partner’s Italian mastiffs. She would make a great therapy or service dog because of her solid temperament – nothing bothers her.
I’m always so happy with the puppies Hazel produces. She consistently delivers amazing pups, and I always get glowing reviews about every one of them! Since she is on the smaller side for a Bernese, she is ideal for breeding mini bernedoodles. All in all, she is the perfect Bernese in terms of appearance, health, pedigree, and temperament.
Her parents were imported from Slovakia (father) and Poland (mother), and her pedigree goes back to Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, and Germany. Most of her ancestors have been hip- and elbow-tested with solid ratings. These lines are very healthy, strong, and well researched. In fact, I’ve been able to investigate 12 generations back on some of her ancestors, and have done in-depth research for at least six of them.
I’m very happy with what I’ve seen in Hazel’s lines and I’m so excited to have this amazing girl as part of my breeding program. She has added some very beautiful dogs into the SwissRidge family.
