Chester
Male Medium Bernedoodle - 4 months training
Chester is a Medium Bernedoodle! He is currently enrolled in our imprinting program and is learning the commands sit, down, come, stay, leave it, watch me, place, and loose-leash walking (see video below). He is also learning puppy manners, as well as house and crate training. Our trainers work on handling exercises with the puppies and help them become comfortable with grooming.
Chester is microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, dewormed, and comes with a 2-year health guarantee. Both of his parents have completed all required health clearances, which can be viewed on our website.
While Chester is in training, you will receive weekly updates from his trainer. At the end of the program, you will receive a final report, a schedule, and training videos showing everything he has learned. You will also receive our in-depth online training course so you can learn exactly how Chester was taught and continue building on all of his training once he comes home. The course is valued at $1,350 and is only included with our trained puppies. It is sold separately with all other puppies.
Here is what Chester’s trainer has to say about him:
Good with kids?
Chester is very people-oriented and enjoys being included in day-to-day activities. He would do best with respectful children who understand how to interact appropriately with dogs. He would appreciate having kids around that will give him all the belly and ear rubs as he is a very affectionate and easy going pup!
Good with dogs?
Yes! Chester does very well with other dogs ( big and small) and enjoys canine companionship. He adapts well to different play styles and energy levels, taking social cues appropriately and engaging respectfully. He would thrive in a home with another well-balanced dog but could also do well as the only dog.
Good with cats?
Not tested. Slow, structured introductions would be recommended if a feline companion is present in the home. He is however unbothered by wildlife… and has been known to give horses nose boops and kisses… loud baby ducks confuse him…and the sounds they make trigger the famously adorable full side to side head tilts… every single time… he is gentle though and at this point, I don’t see much prey drive in him.
Confidence level
Chester is very laid back and building on his confidence, he is a curious dog who enjoys exploring new environments and experiences. He approaches new situations with enthusiasm while maintaining a strong connection with his people.
Energy level?
Indoors: Low to medium. Chester settles nicely in the home and enjoys relaxing with his family when his needs have been met.Outdoors: Medium. He enjoys walks, exploring, training, play sessions, and engaging with his surroundings.
Potential living environments?
Chester is adaptable and could succeed in a variety of living situations as long as his physical, mental, and social needs are met. He enjoys being involved with his people and benefits from continued guidance, structure, and enrichment.
Potential living environments
He would enjoy the city, suburb or country
Chester enjoys a fun little romp around the yard with the other training puppies and my older dogs, but he is naturally much more laid back and slower paced. After short periods of playful activity, he is happy to retire for some quiet relaxation and recharge before joining back in. He is not a particularly hyper puppy and has a calm, easygoing demeanor that makes him very balanced in both active and quiet environments.
He enjoys following me or the kids from room to room throughout the day, but once everyone settles down for family time or meals, he is perfectly content doing his own thing. Whether that means engaging with another dog or relaxing on his raised place mat for a nap, he is comfortable entertaining himself independently. From this, we can see that he enjoys being in your company when given the opportunity but does not rely on constant attention or interaction to feel secure. However, if you sit down on the floor or lower yourself and invite him over, he will happily drop everything to curl up in your arms for affection. He has a wonderful balance between independence and companionship and is beginning to show very confident traits and consistent habits.
Chester is also very thoughtful in the way he approaches new experiences. He prefers to observe and mentally process new sights, sounds, and environments before choosing to explore and engage with them. Rather than rushing into unfamiliar situations, he takes a moment to assess everything around him, which allows him to build confidence while remaining calm and level headed.
In training Chester has excelled with both his recall and crate training, picking up new concepts very quickly. He has adapted well to the daily routine and continues to show a willingness to learn while maintaining his relaxed personality. He absolutely loves toys, anything involving food, and appreciates long, lazy days filled with plenty of opportunities to rest between adventures.
Chester is an amazing puppy and I know any family would be very lucky to have him join their home!
