Sully is a stunning Teddy Bear type Bernese Mountain Dog who was bred and raised at SwissRidge.

His father is Odin, an import from Europe, and his mother is Electra. Electra is a beautiful Bernese out of my mother’s lines and represents the fourth generation bred at her kennel. For more than 25 years we have been carefully selecting only the best Bernese to continue our program.

Electra’s parents are Jacqueena and Duc. Duc is a striking dog imported from an award winning kennel in France. I had the opportunity to visit the kennel myself and hand pick him from the litter. Duc’s lines are health tested for more than five generations, and this kennel is dedicated to breeding only the best. They also participate in important genetic research focused on cancer markers in the breed. Since many of these tests are not available in Canada, we often look overseas when expanding our lines.

Jacqueena, Electra’s mother, is a large and exquisite Bernese bred at my mother’s kennel. Her parents are Nellar and Dominique. Dominique and Duc both came from the same French kennel. Nellar was also bred at my mother’s kennel, out of Veruschka, who was imported from an award winning kennel in Slovakia, and Daiko, who was imported from Belgium more than 20 years ago. The dogs in these lines have been imported from some of the top kennels in the world, including kennels in France, Belgium, and Slovakia. I am so confident in these lines that I kept four puppies from one of Jacqueena’s litters — Adelyn, Cordelia, Electra, and Madelyn. Looking at both the vertical and horizontal pedigree is very important, and because I have worked with so many of these siblings myself, I know both sides of the family thoroughly.

Sully represents the fifth generation of these lines that I have personally known. We know his mother’s side exceptionally well, and they have been producing outstanding puppies for families around the world for over 20 years.

Sully truly has it all — looks, personality, and health. It was an easy decision to add this incredible boy to our breeding program once he passed all of his health testing.

Here is a little more about Sully’s personality, shared by the trainer who raised him:

“Sully is one of the sweetest and most handsome boys I have ever met. He is goofy, loving, silly, and very playful. His temperament is well balanced and he is extremely social. He loves meeting people and dogs, and he thrives on playful interactions with anyone who is willing to join in. If someone is hesitant, he will do his best to convince them he is worth their time.

Sully loves his walks, and the moment he sees the leash in my hand he runs straight to the door, ready for his next adventure. He has become a neighborhood favorite, known for his sweet and gentle nature. On walks he cannot resist greeting everyone he sees. Even strangers quickly become his new best friends.

Despite his love for walking and play, Sully is also a laid back pup. His favorite pose is to stretch out as flat as possible on the cool tile floor. He loves winter and is happiest when romping through fresh snow. With his thick coat, the cold never bothers him.

For such a big boy, Sully is remarkably gentle. He adapts his energy to the people and dogs around him. Some of his closest friends have been puppies a fraction of his size, who climb all over him as if he were a mountain. His calm and balanced energy draws dogs to him, and they love to be near him.

Sully is also very affectionate. When he relaxes, he wants to be close to his people, sometimes a little too close. He often lies at our feet or tucks himself nearby just to be part of things. When he wants attention, he sits in front of us and nudges with his nose. As soon as he senses affection is coming, he spins around and leans in, ready to soak it up.

Sully has been a wonderful presence in our home. I adore him, and I am so excited that he will be sharing his amazing qualities with the SwissRidge community.”

Sully has been fully health tested, and his health certificates are attached for your review. At SwissRidge, we complete thorough health testing on all of our dogs, including x-rays, DNA testing, and comprehensive physical exams performed by a licensed veterinarian to ensure we are breeding only the healthiest dogs who will go on to produce strong, healthy puppies.
