Octavia was imported from Europe as a puppy, and from the moment she arrived I knew she was something special. She has grown into a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog with a strong, stocky build and the kind of presence that makes you stop and admire her. At the same time that I brought Octavia home, I also purchased her siblings Onyx and Opal from the same kennel. I often like to bring in more than one pup from a line so I can evaluate both the vertical pedigree, by researching parentage, and the horizontal pedigree, by watching how the siblings develop. Owning three dogs from this litter made it easy to assess both the health and temperament of the line, and I am thrilled to say that all three passed their health clearances with flying colors.

Octavia is not only beautiful and well bred, she also has the kind of personality I love most in a Bernese. She is easygoing and balanced, friendly with both people and dogs, and she has a calm energy that makes her a joy to be around. She is smart and attentive, always willing to work for a treat, and she has that classic people-pleasing nature that makes training feel effortless. Her eyes are soulful and expressive, the kind that seem to look right into you and understand exactly what you are feeling. She never jumps or barks and is the easiest dog to be around.

What I love most about Octavia is her temperament. Many Bernese can have a stubborn streak, but I have not seen this in her or her lineage. She is sweet and cooperative, eager to connect, and deeply loyal to the people she knows and trusts. With strangers she can be a little more reserved, choosing to stay close to her circle rather than rush up to meet someone new. 

I know we are not supposed to have favorites, but Octavia and I share such a natural connection that it feels like we truly understand one another. Our personalities align in a way that makes her feel like a perfect fit in my life and in my program. She is everything I hope to see in the Bernese I carefully select, combining beauty, sound genetics, and a wonderful temperament.

Octavia has been fully health tested, and her health certificates are attached for your review. At SwissRidge, we complete thorough health testing on all of our dogs, including x-rays, DNA testing, and comprehensive physical exams performed by a licensed veterinarian to ensure we are breeding only the healthiest dogs who will go on to produce strong, healthy puppies.
