Meadow was born and raised here at SwissRidge, and she comes from one of my all-time favorite pairings. Her mother, Ophelia, was one of the sweetest Bernese we’ve ever had. She had the calmest, gentlest nature and absolutely loved everyone she met​ and she was the perfect Bernese. Her father, Bodhi​ or as we call him, King Bodhi​ is one of the most prized studs at SwissRidge, and for good reason. His puppies are consistently stunning, with incredible temperaments and the cutest teddy bear look you could ever ask for. Bodhi is confident, outgoing, playful, and always ready for an adventure.

Meadow also comes from generations of carefully planned breeding. On both her mother​’s and father​’s side​s, ​t​here is a long line of health-tested ​d​ogs in their ancestry. We have personally owned, raised, and health tested over six-generations on her father’s side alone. Knowing these ​l​ines so well gives us a great understanding of the health and temperament traits that Meadow carries forward.

Personality-wise, Meadow reminds me so much of her mother. As a puppy, she was one of the calmer girls in her litter. She wasn’t naturally the first one to run up to every new experience, so we spent a little extra time building her confidence through positive socialization. It was absolutely worth it because she has blossomed into a confident, playful, and incredibly social adult.

I think Meadow is the perfect combination of both of her parents. She inherited Bodhi’s goofy, fun-loving personality and playful energy when she’s outside or wrestling with the other dogs. She’s always up for an adventure and loves being part of the action. But the moment she’s away from the excitement and has your undivided attention, she completely changes. She melts into the sweetest, most affectionate cuddle bug and is happiest curled up beside you soaking up attention. She has an excellent off switch and ​s​ettles down when the environment around her is calm.

I would describe Meadow as having a moderate energy level. She loves to run, play, and be active, but she’s not a dog that stays “on” all day. After a good play session, she is more than happy to relax and enjoy some quiet time. She is extremely food motivated, loves learning, and is eager to work for treats, which makes her ​e​asy to train.

Meadow has the kind of personality that most families are searching for​, which is why we decided she would be perfect for our program! She’s confident, affectionate, playful, and she has just enough sass and goofy charm to keep everyone smiling. She has a way of making people laugh with her silly antics, but she’s equally content curling up beside you at the end of the day.
