Dior is a stunning red and white Standard Poodle whose vibrant coloring turns heads everywhere she goes. Strangers can’t help but stop and comment, saying things like “What a beautiful dog!” or “I’ve never seen a poodle with such striking markings.” She truly is a showstopper.

Finding poodles that meet the high standards for my breeding program has always been a challenge. I look for puppies whose parents have been health-tested for generations, who have solid, stable temperaments, and who carry the structure and look that I want to pass along to future generations. I’ve searched high and low for dogs that check all of these boxes, but it’s rare to find the whole package. Often, I’d find a puppy that looked promising, only to discover that they didn’t pass my rigorous health testing, their temperament wasn’t quite the right fit, or they didn’t grow up to be what I had envisioned. Some might say I’m too selective, but I believe being picky is what has allowed SwissRidge to consistently produce exceptional dogs. I raise a lot of puppies, but only a small handful make the cut.

That’s why I eventually decided to breed a litter of poodles for myself. I paired two of my most treasured poodles, Coco and Crumpet. Their puppies were everything I had hoped for—beautiful, healthy, and full of promise. I decided to keep the entire litter for my program. Dior was one of these special pups. This was actually the second time I repeated this pairing, since five years earlier Coco and Crumpet had produced another litter that exceeded all my expectations. Before Coco was retired, I wanted to preserve these incredible lines one last time, and I couldn’t be happier that Dior came from that final litter. For nearly a decade now, these lines have consistently produced healthy, well-tempered, and affectionate family dogs.

Dior is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She has a heart as big as her personality, and she absolutely adores people. For the first nine months of her life, Dior lived with one of my employees, and she quickly became the family’s favorite. They fell in love with her spunky, fun-loving nature and her way of making every day feel brighter.

She’s an extremely social dog. Dior is the type who doesn’t just like everyone she meets but makes everyone feel like her best friend. Dior is playful, goofy, and spirited, with a contagious zest for life. She has this joyful bounce in her step, it’s almost like she has springs in her feet and when she’s in the yard, she’ll effortlessly leaps right over other dogs mid-play. It’s impossible not to laugh when you watch her.

What stands out most about Dior is her happiness. She radiates it. She’s the kind of dog who notices when you’re having a rough day and immediately climbs into your lap for cuddles, melting away stress with her affection. She thrives on human connection and would happily snuggle all day if you let her. Yet she’s just as content racing around the yard, playing chase, or showing off her goofy antics to make people laugh.

Dior is gentle and affectionate, but she also has a confident, adventurous side. She loves exploring, meeting new people, and being right in the middle of the action. Whether she’s curled up at your side or bouncing around with her doggy friends, she spreads joy everywhere she goes.

In short, Dior is a doll. The best words to describe her are affectionate, social, playful, and happy. She has an energy that’s magnetic, a personality that’s impossible not to love, and a spirit that makes every moment spent with her feel special.
