Cartier comes from lines I’ve cherished in my kennel for over a decade. She is part of the second litter I kept out of Coco and Crumpet. I had kept a litter from this pairing more than five years ago and was so impressed with those puppies that, before Coco’s retirement, I decided to keep one final litter to preserve these remarkable lines a little longer. Time and again, this lineage has proven itself in producing puppies that are healthy, well-tempered, and wonderful family companions.
Cartier is named after the iconic designer because what name could suit her better? Her name reflects curiosity, open-mindedness, freedom, and excellence. She is the kind of dog you could picture walking down the streets of Paris, turning heads with her elegance and confidence. She prances proudly, strutting as if she knows she is capable of anything she sets her mind to.
Though we’ve only taught her a handful of commands here at the kennel, she learns so quickly and with such enthusiasm that I often joke she could excel in a circus. Cartier is highly intelligent, outgoing, eager to please, and very motivated. These traits shine through in her daily interactions with people and other dogs.
From a young age, she carried herself as the mama bear of her litter. If one pup was excluded, Cartier would be the first to comfort it, encourage play, or bring it back into the group. This natural caregiving instinct has blossomed into a personality that is caring, protective, and strong-minded. She is a mentally strong and confident dog. She is a very secure dog in her own skin. The other dogs respect her.
