Hopper
Female - Swissridge Doodle
Weight: 40 lbs
Height: 17.5"
Hopper is a fun, loving, sweet, and wonderfully social SwissRidge Doodle. She is a unique blend of Bernese Mountain Dog, Golden Retriever, Poodle, and Australian Labradoodle. She was bred and raised right here at SwissRidge Kennels alongside her sister Hattie, from two of our much-loved dogs, Autumn and Wookie.
Her family tree is deeply rooted in our kennel’s history, with lines that stretch back to 1998. Hopper’s great-grandmother, Ginger, was the golden retriever who started it all. Ginger wasn’t just any dog, she was my soulmate and, in my opinion, the sweetest golden retriever in the world. She lived to the incredible age of 17, and her gentle, loving spirit laid the foundation for what became the SwissRidge Doodles. Ginger produced Lazeeza (a Goldendoodle), who was then bred to Henry (a Bernedoodle and the cover model on the front page of the 1st Bernedoodle book). Together, they produced Autumn (a Golden Mountain Doodle), who was later paired with Wookie (an Australian Labradoodle). From that pairing came Hattie and Hopper!
These lines have been cherished and carefully preserved for over 28 years, and they’ve brought joy to hundreds of families through dogs known for their sweet, affectionate, and loyal natures. Hopper is a shining example of everything we’ve worked toward with this program.
When it comes to personality, Hopper is the perfect family dog. She has a joyful, playful energy and loves to be included in everything. Whether it’s exploring outdoors, chasing after new scents, or just tagging along at your side, she is always eager to be part of the adventure. But she balances that lively spirit with a gentle, cuddly side that makes her just as happy to curl up for snuggles when it’s time to wind down. In fact, when I think of the most affectionate dogs I’ve ever been around, Hopper is always one of the first that comes to mind.
Hopper is truly a social butterfly. She adores people and dogs alike, and she’s quick to engage in play no matter the age or size of her companions. With people, she can hardly resist curling up beside them for belly rubs or ear scratches, and if you give her half a chance, she’ll happily crawl right into your lap despite her size. Around children, she is incredibly gentle and intuitive. Raised in a home with a one-year-old and a three-year-old, Hopper showed a natural motherly instinct—whether joining in their games or quietly steadying herself beside them as they learned to walk. She adores kids, and they adore her right back.
Outdoors, Hopper comes alive. She loves exploring, whether romping through the 5km of trails on our property, splashing around in the pool, or racing happily with the other dogs. She loves to investigates everything with wide-eyed enthusiasm, tail wagging nonstop. She’s the kind of dog who greets every day with a smile, ready for whatever fun it may bring.
At home, Hopper is affectionate, eager to please, and quick to pick up on commands and routines. She brings laughter, love, and a lighthearted energy into our lives, while also having that calm and steady side that makes her such a joy to be around.
Hoppers puppies have already proven to be just as special as she is. They are sweet, social, and full of charm. They carry her affectionate nature and it has been such a joy to watch them grow into amazing companions for their families. I truly love sharing Hopper’s pups with the SwissRidge community, knowing the happiness and love they have brought to many families.
Hopper has been fully health tested, and her health certificates are attached for your review. At SwissRidge, we complete thorough health testing on all of our dogs, including x-rays, DNA testing, and comprehensive physical exams performed by a licensed veterinarian to ensure we are breeding only the healthiest dogs who will go on to produce strong, healthy puppies.
